You have to always be closing all loops in your business in order to be successful.

Closing these loops will help you become more productive and focused in everything you do. It’s essential for your time management to list all your open loops and close them by filing them correctly, doing them, or throwing them away if they are not important.

Executives, entrepreneurs, business owners and individuals need to follow this system from “Getting Things Done” in order to live a productive life. There are some additional ways to close these loops that make things much easier.

The program Omnifocus is a program where you can fill in everything you need to do, and file it so it’s the right place. You will then be able to focus on what you need to do right now to reach your most immediate goal. This stops your brain from being constantly overloaded and overwhelmed by all the things you haven’t done yet and all the things you want to do in the future.

The GTD system is special because it gets everything out of your head and down into a filing system for future reference. Everything means everything, from your chores at home, to future plans, to current business plans and even your hobbies. When everything is down in one place, you are able to focus your mind on the task at hand without ever getting distracted by thoughts of what you need to remember.

Once you note down everything that’s in your mind and put it into a program like Omnifocus or even a simple text document, you then have to follow a simple filing routine. Either you do it, if the task takes less than two minutes, you delegate it, if you can get someone else to do it, you defer it if you cant do it right away or you drop it, and it goes in the trash.

This simple system will handle your emails, paperwork and any tasks or projects that have piled up. You can use this system for handling incoming demands, planning projects and prioritizing your goals.
